Hempstead, NY - The United Soccer Coaches announced the association's 2021 Scholar All-America Teams, including the Scholar Players of the Year, for all levels of college soccer on Thursday and the Pride's
Hendrik Hebbeker was selected to the first team. He was also a First Team Scholar All-East Region pick as well. Hebbeker is just the sixth Hofstra men's soccer player to earn Scholar All-America honors, joining Michael Todd (2006), Chris Griebsch (2013), Joseph Holland (2015), Sean Nealis (2018), and
Matthew Vowinkel (2019).
Hebbeker, a senior midfielder from Cologne, Germany, earns his first Scholar All-America nod after posting a 3.97 grade point average as a mathematics major. A CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American as well, Hebbeker posted nine goals and tied for the team lead with 11 assists for 29 points this past season. He helped Hofstra to an 18-2-2 record, a Colonial Athletic Association title, and a spot in the third round of the NCAA Championship.
A Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-American, he was also selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy and earned United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Atlantic Region honors. Hebbeker was a First Team All-CAA selection and ranked fifth nationally in assists and 12th in points. He tied for second in the CAA in assists, was fourth in goals, and third in points. The 11 assists were tied for the third most in a single season in program history and his 29 points tied for ninth on the Hofstra single season list.
