Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team will return to Colonial Athletic Association play Saturday when it travels to Charleston, South Carolina, for a 12 p.m. meeting with the Cougars of the College of Charleston at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point. The Pride will be looking for their eighth consecutive victory.

Hofstra enters the game with a 10-1 overall record and a 3-1 mark in CAA play. The Pride is coming off a 3-1 non-conference win over Columbia this past Tuesday night in what was Coach
Richard Nuttall's 300th career victory. Hofstra received goals from
Ryan Carmichael,
Stefan Mason, and
George O'Malley. The 10-1 record is Hofstra's best-ever start to a season.Â
Carmichael, who leads the team with nine goals and 20 points, has been on fire with seven goals over his last four games.
Hendrik Hebbeker, who has four goals and six assists on the season, has eight points in his last four games.
The Cougars are 3-5-2 overall and 0-4 in CAA action. Charleston has had a week off since its last game, a 1-0 loss against William & Mary on October 2. Kane Ritchie leads the team in scoring with four goals and an assist for nine points. Rio Murray and Jake Nicholson each had four assists to pace the squad. Cameron Smith has played every game in goal and has 45 saves and a 1.13 goals against average.
Hofstra is 4-1-2 all-time against College of Charleston and won the last meeting, 3-0, at Charleston in 2019. Hofstra is 3-0-1 in its last four meetings with the Cougars and has not allowed a goal in the time.
Hofstra will have a week off following the game as the Pride return to action October 16 at home against NJIT with a 5 p.m. start time. Hofstra was scheduled to play at Fordham October 12, but that game has been canceled. Â
