10/4/2021 1:44:00 PM

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team, owners of the sixth-longest winning streak in the nation, will be in search of a seventh consecutive victory and their 10th win of the season Tuesday night when they host Columbia at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Pride enter the game with an overall record of 9-1-0, the best 10-game record in program history. In addition to vying for a 10th win and extending the winning streak, Hofstra will also be trying to pick up career win 300 for Head Coach Richard Nuttall. The 33rd-year head coach will be looking to become the 22nd active Division I head coach to reach the 300-win plateau.

The Pride is coming off a 4-1 win at Delaware this past Saturday night behind two goals from Ryan Carmichael and single goals from Storm Strongin and Hendrik Hebbeker. Carmichael has been on fire recently, scoring six goals in the last three games. Hebbeker has also been hot, recording seven points in his last three games (2 goals, 3 assists). The Hofstra defense limited Delaware to just five shots and only two on goal.

Columbia is 1-5-2 on the season with three consecutive losses. In fact, all five of Columbia's losses have been by 1-0 scores. Ryan Kipniss and Jake Novoshelski lead the Lions with three points each on one goal and one assist. Michael Collodi has played seven games in goal and has 0.60 goals against average and 33 saves.

Columbia holds a 16-4-4 advantage in the all-time series. The Pride won the last meeting, 3-0, on November 5, 2019. Petter Soelberg netted a pair of goals and Hebbeker added one.

The game will be streamed live on FloFC with audio commentary provided by WRHU-FM (88.7). An audio-only broadcast can be heard over the air on 88.7 FM or online via the listen live link. Live statistics will also be provided. Links for all can be found above or on the men's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Following Tuesday's game, Hofstra will be back on the road for a Saturday CAA tilt at College of Charleston. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.
