WBB: Hofstra Prepares for Home-and-Home Series Versus Northeastern

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's basketball team (3-5, 1-1 CAA) will face the Northeastern Huskies (0-4, 0-2 CAA) this season in its lone home-and-home series of the Colonial Athletic Association season. The Pride will head to Boston to meet the Huskies on the road on Thursday, January 7 before both teams will travel back to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex for a meeting on Saturday, January 9 Thursday's contest is at 12 p.m. and Saturday's contest will tip off at 2 p.m.

Both games will be streamed live on FloHoops. WRHU live audio and live statistics will also be available. Links to all three can be found at the top of this release and on top of the Hofstra women's basketball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra (3-5) is coming off a CAA opening weekend split at William & Mary. The Pride saw three players average double figures in scoring following the first two games, led by Jaylen Hines who averaged 18.5 points per game last weekend (including 27 on Sunday) to go along with a team-high 8.5 rebounds and five steals. JaKayla Brown put up 15.0 points this past weekend, while Rosi Nicholson averaged 10.0 points for the Pride. 

Northeastern played two games against Delaware on Monday and Tuesday instead of their original schedule of this past Saturday and Sunday against Elon, so they will be heading into the first Hofstra game on just two nights of rest. The Huskies dropped both ends of the series to Delaware, 86-59 and 68-61. Mide Oriyomi leads Northeastern with 12.5 points per game, while Kendall Currence is just behind (12.3 ppg) and Stella Clark follows has 11.8 points per contest.
