MLAX: Dan DeSanti Earns USILA Scholar All-America Honors

Louisville, KY – Hofstra men's lacrosse player Dan DeSanti has been named a 2020 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Warrior and New Balance Division I Scholar All-American.

A long-stick midfielder from Dix Hills, New York, DeSanti graduated from Hofstra with a 3.44 grade point average as a Political Science major. DeSanti played in five games for the Pride in 2020 and recorded one goal against Villanova, in addition to totaling six ground balls and five caused turnovers. In the classroom, DeSanti was named to the Fall 2019 CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and to the Spring 2020 Hofstra Dean's List.

DeSanti becomes the 16th Hofstra men's lacrosse player in program history to receive USILA Scholar All-America honors. This also makes it three straight years a member of the Hofstra men's lacrosse team has been selected to the USILA Scholar All-America team, with Mark Ellis earning the distinction in 2019 and Dylan Alderman making the squad in 2018.

DeSanti arrived at Hofstra after attending the United States Military Academy at West Point for four years. DeSanti played in 43 games over three seasons for the Black Knights and scored eight goals while creating three. Additionally, he recorded 50 ground balls and caused 27 turnovers for Army. DeSanti helped the Black Knights to consecutive appearances in the Patriot League Championship in 2016 and 2017 and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2016.

DeSanti is a 2015 graduate of St. Anthony's (NY) High School and was a Catholic High School Athletic Association All-League selection at defense and was named All-Metro First Team.
