Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Seth Tierney announced today that three student-athletes will be transferring to Hofstra to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Joining the Pride are midfielder
Alex Concannon (Syosset, New York), defenseman
Logan Danenza (Muttontown, New York), and attackman
Justin Lynskey (Massapequa, New York). All three will have one year with the Pride.
"We are thrilled to add this trio to our roster and the Hofstra community," commented Tierney. "All three will be significant additions to our team and will provide our program with depth at multiple positions. We are also excited to bring home three Long Island stars to continue their careers."
A graduate of Syosset High School, Concannon played in 48 games for Johns Hopkins. He appeared in 16 games in both 2018 and 2019 and 14 games in 2017. Concannon totaled 56 points on 31 goals and 25 assists, while also adding 20 ground balls, and four caused turnovers during his career. He had his best seasons in 2019 when he posted 26 points on 18 goals and eight assists and in 2018 with 18 points on 10 goals and eight assists.
During his high school career at Syosset, Concannon posted 208 points on 125 goals and 83 assists. Concannon was a US Lacrosse All-American as a senior after tallying 49 goals and 44 assists. In 2016, Inside lacrosse named him the 64th best freshman in the nation and the 19th best freshman attackman in the nation. He is a cousin of former Hofstra All-American goalie
Jack Concannon.
Danenza, a graduate of St. Anthony's High School, joins the Pride after previously attending High Point and Massachusetts. He played in eight games for the Panthers in 2017 and totaled five ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. In 2018 at Massachusetts he appeared in four games and grabbed a ground ball against NJIT.
While at St. Anthony's he earned defensive player of the year accolades and was also chosen to the all-metro team.
Lynskey attended Massapequa High School where he was a teammate of Pride senior
Ryan Tierney. He joins Hofstra from Holy Cross where he appeared in 35 games during his career. Lynskey amassed 66 points on 45 goals and 21 points and also had 35 ground balls and four caused turnovers. He posted 16 points (11 G, 5 A) in 2018, 36 points (22 G, 14 A) in 2019, and 14 points (12 G, 2 A) in 2020.
In high school, he totaled 89 goals and 49 assists for 138 points. A team captain, he was named All-County in 2016 and All-County honorable mention in 2015. His team won the Nassau County championship during his career and also a New York State title as well.
