Hempstead, NY - Hofstra senior
Ryan Tierney has been named the US Lacrosse Player of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the organization.
It was an incredible game for Tierney as he almost single-handedly lifted the Pride to a 12-9 win over Michigan on Saturday.
Tierney tied his career-high with eight points as he posted four goals and four assists to lift the Pride to the 2-0 record to start the 2020 campaign.
It was a tale of two halves for Tierney as the first half saw him post his 22nd career hat trick with four goals and the second half he tallied all four of his assists.
He helped Hofstra overcome a 6-3 deficit in the second quarter as the Pride went on a 9-1 run after falling behind by three goals.
Tierney has seven goals and five assists already this season through two games. It marked the third time he has reached eight points in his career, the last time against Drexel last April.
