Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Shannon Smith announced today the addition of transfer student-athlete Sabrina Cristodero from the University of Florida. Cristodero, an elite defender, will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Pride and will be eligible to play in 2020.

"Sabrina is an elite defender and spectacular on the draw circle and someone who immediately improves our team in every facet," commented Smith. "Adding Sabrina to our already talented roster will put our program in a position to be successful in 2020 and beyond. We are elated that Sabrina is coming to Hofstra and joining our incredible women's lacrosse program!"

A native of Glen Head, New York, Cristodero played in 41 games for the Gators over the last two years and started 40 of them. She has totaled 202 draw controls, 57 ground balls, 39 caused turnovers and three goals. This past season she ranked second on the team in draw controls (75) and caused turnovers (19) and fourth in ground balls (28). Her career draw control total ranks third all-time in Florida history.

A 2019 All-American Athletic Conference First Team selection, she also earned a slew of awards as a freshman including Inside Lacrosse Third Team Media All-American, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region Second Team and Second Team All-Big East.

Cristodero attended St. Anthony's High School where she won three state championships. She was rated the nation's 25th best recruit coming out of high school.
