Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Nicole Levy announced today that Danielle Pavinelli has joined the Pride as an assistant coach.

Pavinelli comes to Hofstra after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Arizona State University. She joined the Sun Devils in June 2024 following an outstanding playing career at the University of Florida.

"I strongly believe Danielle is the perfect match for our team and what we're trying to build at Hofstra," said Levy. "We are putting together a collaborative staff that is driven toward the same goals, but also brings their own perspectives and personalities to the table. From her days as a player to where she is now as a coach, she has developed into a strong leader and a passionate student of the game. Her wealth of knowledge will be a huge asset to our offense moving forward, and we are so grateful she is coming home to Long Island."

I can't wait to get started and become part of the Hofstra community."


During her time at Arizona State, Pavinelli assisted in all aspects of the program, including practice planning, player development, scouting, game preparation, and recruiting. She also helped develop the program's team culture with an emphasis on accountability, leadership, and development.

Prior to beginning her collegiate coaching career, Pavinelli put together a decorated four-year career at Florida from 2020 to 2024. A two-year team captain, Pavinelli helped lead the Gators to the NCAA Final Four in 2024, marking the program's first trip to the national semifinals since 2012. She concluded her career ranked third all-time at Florida in points (302) and assists (95) and fourth in goals (207).

Pavinelli earned numerous accolades during her career, highlighted by IWLCA Second Team All-America honors in 2022. She was a two-time All-American Athletic Conference First Team selection, the 2022 AAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, the 2021 AAC Freshman of the Year, and a member of the 2024 NCAA All-Tournament Team. She was also named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List in 2024 after being selected as a Tewaaraton Top-25 nominee in 2022.

Pavinelli also competed on the international stage as a member of the USA Women's Sixes Team at the 2022 World Games. She helped Team USA earn the silver medal in the inaugural World Games Sixes competition.

In addition to her collegiate experience, Pavinelli previously served as an assistant coach with Yellow Jackets 2031 on Long Island from 2021 to 2024, where she worked with youth athletes on skill development, team concepts, and fundamentals.

A native of Northport, New York, Pavinelli earned her bachelor's degree in health education from Florida in May 2024.
