Ellis, who was selected by the New York Lizards in the 2019 Major League Lacrosse Rookie Selection Draft last month, was a two-year starter and a 2019 co-Captain for the Pride. He came to Hofstra in January 2018 after graduating from Stony Brook University. In 2019, Ellis recorded two goals, against Utah and Ohio State, and one assist against Stony Brook. He posted 18 ground balls and forced six turnovers. He was also a CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection.
At Stony Brook, Ellis played in 30 games over the 2014 and 2015 seasons before red-shirting 2016 and sitting out 2017 with an injury. He tallied two goals, two assists, eight ground balls and three caused turnovers with the Seawolves.
Ellis, who received his bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies from Stony Brook in 2017, received his master's degree in sports science from Hofstra last Sunday. He is a graduate of Garden City (NY) High School where he was a three-sport athlete competing in lacrosse, football and indoor track. He was a member of two state championship teams at Garden City.
McIntee, who served as the head coach at Manhattan College for 15 years and has served as an assistant at Mt. St. Mary's, Dartmouth and St. John's, joined the Pride staff in September 2018.
