Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Baseball team will travel to Piscataway, New Jersey, Wednesday for a 3 p.m. matchup against the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers University at Bainton Field.
Live statistics, live video (Big Ten Network Plus) and a live audio (Rutgers) broadcast will be available, with links for each above or on the baseball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.
Hofstra (7-24) will be looking to carry the momentum from a come-from-behind, 12-6 victory over Towson Sunday into Wednesday's contest. The Pride rallied from a 5-2 deficit, scoring 10 runs combined in the sixth and seventh innings, to post the win.
Steven Boscia, who won his last start on April 2 against Manhattan, will get the nod against the Scarlet Knights (13-19).
Rutgers enters the game on a hot streak, having won five consecutive games including a sweep of Michigan State at home this past weekend. The Scarlet Knights outscored the Spartans, 18-5, in the series. Jared Bellissimo will get the starting nod on the mound for Rutgers. The freshman left-hander is 1-0 with a 7.00 ERA in seven appearances (four starts).
Hofstra and Rutgers have met 10 times previously and the series is tied at 5 wins apiece. This will be the first meeting since 2014 when Rutgers picked up a 13-5 victory in Piscataway.
Following the Rutgers game, the Pride will return home for a weekend series against CAA-rival UNCW that begins Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
