Hempstead, NY – Hofstra Men's Lacrosse will have four alums representing the University when the 2019 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Championship semifinals begin Friday night at Peter Barton Stadiun in Denver, Colorado.
Michael Unterstein '08, of the Chesapeake Bayhawks, Michael Skudin '11 of the Boston Cannons, and Finn Sullivan '16 and
Brendan Kavanagh '18 of the Denver Outlaws will be carrying the Hofstra banner when the semifinals begin Friday evening.
Chesapeake will face the Atlanta Blaze at 7 p.m. and Denver takes on Boston at 10 p.m. Both semifinal games will be aired on ESPNews. The MLL Championship contest will be played at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado on Sunday, October 6 airing at 1 p.m. on ESPN2.
Unterstein, a midfielder, played in 12 games this season although only one with the Bayhawks following a late season acquisition from the New York Lizards. He recorded one assist, 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Skudin, a defender, played in 10 games for the Boston Cannons this season. He tallied one goal, 16 ground balls and one caused turnover.
Sullivan, a defender, played in 15 games for the Outlaws in 2019. He recorded 27 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Sullivan is also a finalist for the MLL-Warrior Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Kavanagh, a midfielder, had a breakout season in 2019, scoring 21 goals and 16 assists for 37 points in 15 games for the Outlaws. He also picked up 25 ground balls.
