Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University junior forward Matthew Vowinkel was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Offensive Player of the Week for October 28, 2019, it was announced today by the league office. Vowinkel also was named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week following a vote by the Hofstra fan base. He receievd 29-percent of the votes in a tightly-contest that saw all four nominees garner more than 20-percent of the votes. 
 
The New Hyde Park, New York, native recorded a career-best three goals in the Pride's win over Delaware this past Saturday night. It was the first hat trick for a Hofstra player since Constantinos Christoudias scored three versus Delaware on October 2, 2005.
 
Vowinkel now has a team-best seven goal on the season and will be back in action Tuesday night versus Binghamton.
