MLAX: Hofstra Announces 2020 Schedule; Season Tickets Now On Sale

Hempstead, NY – Hofstra Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Seth Tierney today announced the Pride's 15-game, 2020 schedule. The Hofstra schedule includes nine home games at James M. Shuart Stadium and six road games and includes two first-time opponents and five metropolitan area foes including one that the Pride has not faced since 1990.

In conjunction with the announcement of the schedule, 2020 Hofstra Men's Lacrosse season tickets are on sale now. Tickets to all 2020 Hofstra Men's Lacrosse home games are just $84 for adults and $42 for youth and seniors. All 2020 Hofstra Men's Lacrosse season ticket holders will also have the opportunity to purchase reserved chair-back seats to the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals at Shuart Stadium before they go on sale to the general public. Hofstra, which will play its earliest regular season opener ever surpassing last year's opener by one day, open the year with three consecutive home games including the first two against first-time opponents. The Pride open up on Saturday, February 8 against the Seahawks of Wagner in a Hofstra men's/women's lacrosse doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. A week later on February 15, the Pride host the Wolverines of Michigan in another first-time meeting and another men's/women's doubleheader at 11 a.m. The Villanova Wildcats close out the three-game opening homestand on February 22 at 2 p.m. with the Pride women playing the first game of the day at 11 a.m.

Two local rivals close out the month of February as the Pride will travel to Stony Brook on Tuesday, February 25 at 7 p.m. in the Long Island Rivalry, presented by The Greene Turtle. Hofstra returns home on Saturday, February 29 to face the Sharks of Long Island University for the first time since 1990.

The Pride open the month of March with three straight road games and close it with three straight home games as the Pride travel to Ohio State on March 7, local rival St. John's on March 10, and Providence on March 14. Hofstra returns home for a St. Patrick's Day night game against Manhattan on March 17 before hosting Rutgers on March 21.

Hofstra will kick off its Colonial Athletic Association season and alternate home and road games the remainder of the season on Saturday, March 28 when the Pride host defending conference champion Towson at noon in a men's/women's doubleheader.

Hofstra will travel to Massachusetts on Saturday, April 4 before hosting Delaware on Saturday, April 11. The Pride will travel to Drexel for the annual HEADstrong Foundation Hero Bowl on Saturday, April 18. Hofstra closes out the regular season on Saturday, April 25 with a conference home game against Fairfield at 3 p.m. as part of a women's/men's doubleheader.
 
The CAA Championship tournament, featuring the top four teams from the regular season, will be held at the site of the top seed on April 30 and May 2.

The NCAA Championship tournament first round begins with the play-in round on Wednesday, May 6 before the opening round begins on campus sites on Saturday and Sunday, May 11-12. For the 12th time in school history, Hofstra will once again host a NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship quarterfinal doubleheader at Shuart Stadium on Saturday, May 16, 2019. Providence College will host the other NCAA quarterfinal on Sunday, May 17. The semifinals and championship game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 23 and 25.
