MSOC: Hofstra Hosts Drexel, William & Mary This Week

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra University Men's Soccer team takes a five-game unbeaten streak into a Wednesday night matchup at home against CAA-rival Drexel. The game, which is one of two home contests this week (Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. versus William & Mary), gets underway at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
 
Tickets for both games are available by visiting HofstraTickets.com, where you can print your tickets at home, or by calling the Hofstra Athletics Box Office at (516) HOF-TIXX. Fans can also purchase tickets at the Tickets at the Hofstra Athletics Box Office in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex during normal business hours or at the Hofstra Soccer Stadium one hour before game time. 
 
Hofstra is currently 3-3-3 (0-0-1 CAA) on the season and is 3-0-2 in its last five games. The Pride has not allowed a goal in those five contests, tying a program record. Alex Ashton has lowered his goals against average from 2.17 to 0.94 over the last five games and tied a school record with five consecutive shutouts. Matthew Vowinkel leads the team with four goals while Sean Nealis, Storm Strongin, and Marcus Lindqvist each have two assists. 
 
Drexel is 6-1-1 on the season and 1-1 in CAA action. The Dragons, who are receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Association Poll, have won two consecutive games including a 3-2 win against Elon in overtime this past Saturday. Matthias Ebbesen has seven goals and one assist to pace the Drexel offense. Kwesi Allen has chipped in with two goals and two assists, while Chris Donovan has a goal and three assists. Stephen Kopsachilis has a 0.96 goals against average and 28 saves in six starts. 
 
The Tribe is 2-4 on the season with a Wednesday night game at Elon. The Tribe has had two games canceled due to weather as well as their CAA opener against Charleston postponed. Ryder Bell has a team best four goals to go along with one assist to lead the team in scoring. Antonio Bustamente has a goal and a team-best six assists. Connor Andrews has posted a 2.34 goals against average and 21 saves.
 
Hofstra is 17-22-9 all-time versus Drexel but has won four consecutive games in the series. The Pride is 7-12-3 all-time versus William & Mary and will be looking to stop a three-game losing skid against the Tribe.
