Hempstead, N.Y. – The Hofstra Men's Soccer team will continue its season-opening road trip with a 5 p.m. matchup at No. 21 Colgate on Thursday before heading to Syracuse for a 6 p.m. game on Sunday.
Both games will be available via live stats and live video, with Thursday's game broadcast on the Patriot League Network and Sunday's on ACC Network Extra.
The Pride (0-1-1) played to a 2-2 draw with Dayton in the season opener on Friday before falling to Ohio State, 1-0, in a weather-shortened game on Sunday, as part of the Buckeyes' Wolstein Classic. Junior transfer Peter Meyer scored in his first game in a Hofstra jersey, blasting a highlight-reel shot into the upper corner. Sophomore Matthew Vowinkel added the Pride's second goal against the Flyers and was named to the All-Tournament Team, along with senior goalkeeper Alex Ashton, who made 12 saves on the weekend.
The Raiders (2-0) opened the season with a 1-0 win over Pittsburgh on a goal from Freddy Jonsson before taking down Albany, 2-1, on Monday night. Colgate is the two-time defending Patriot League champion and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2017.
The Orange (1-1) split on Opening Weekend, topping Oregon State, 2-1, before falling to Portland, 2-1. Syracuse was predicted to finish fifth in the ACC Atlantic Division in the preseason poll.
Hofstra will then stay on the road, heading to Seton Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 6.
