Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Baseball team continues a stretch of seven consecutive road games this weekend when it heads to Towson, Maryland, for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series with the Tigers. The team will play Friday at 3 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Hofstra (11-6, 1-2 CAA) is coming off a 14-6 win at Monmouth this past Tuesday in a game that saw the Pride score a season-high in runs. Hofstra was bolstered by the offensive performances of
Mikey Riesner (three hits) as well as two-hit showings from
Austin Gauthier,
Vito Friscia and
Parker Quinn. Friscia drove in four runs on the day, while Gautheir, Quinn and
Vinnie Costello knocked in two runs each. Seven Pride pitchers held the Hawks to eight hits and the Hawks managed just one run over the final six innings.
Towson (4-18, 1-2 CAA) suffered a 13-2 loss at George Washington on Wednesday and have lost seven of its last eight games under first-year coach Matt Tyner. In their loss to the Colonials, the Tigers made six errors that led to six unearned runs.
The Pride's pitching has been its strength this season led by starter
John Rooney's 3-0 record and 1.91 ERA. Closer
Chris Weiss has a 2-1 record, 4 saves and a 1.53 ERA. He also leads the nation in strikeouts per nine innings at 16.30. As a staff, Hofstra has a 2.92 ERA that ranks 22nd in the nation.

Matt Weissheier and
Teddy Cillis will start on the mound for Hofstra. Towson will counter with Gavin Weyman, David Marriggi and Michael Adams.
Following the weekend series the Pride return home to host Manhattan on Wednesday, April 4, and Delaware in a weekend series from April 6-8.
