Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team will play a pair of games this week as the Pride will travel to Wagner on Tuesday before closing the week on Saturday when it takes on Fairfield.
The game against the Seahawks will start at 3 p.m. in Staten Island, while the Pride and the Stags will have first draw control at 3 p.m. from James M. Shuart Stadium.

Hofstra opened the season on Saturday with a dominating 13-1 win over Bucknell. It marked the second straight year the Pride has won its season opener and the third time in the last four years. The one goal allowed was also the fewest Hofstra has allowed since a 1-0 forfeit over Montclair State in 1983. The last contested shutout was an 18-0 win over Centenary in 1980. Junior

Shannon Boyle had three caused turnovers, three ground balls and a goal in her collegiate debut.
The duo of sophomores
Alexa Mattera and
Alyssa Parrella led the way offensively as each posted four goals, with Parrella adding an assist for a game-high five points. Mattera had three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the game as well with Parrella tying a career-high with nine draw controls and chipping in with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Wagner is 0-1 this season after dropping an 11-10 decision to Iona on February 14. Fairfield is 1-1 this season and will face Columbia on Wednesday before taking on the Pride. The Stags defeated Holy Cross before suffering a one-goal loss to Connecticut.
Hofstra is 1-0 all-time against Wagner and 11-3 against Fairfield. The Pride played both teams a season ago and defeated Wagner, 14-10, while suffering a 19-14 loss at Fairfield.
