Hempstead, NY – The third-seeded Hofstra University Men's Soccer team will host No. 6 Northeastern Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in a Colonial Athletic Association Championship Quarterfinal game. The winner will advance to face second-seeded UNCW in the semifinals next Friday at James Madison University.
Hofstra earned the three-seed in the CAA Championship after posting an overall record of 8-6-4 and 5-2-1 in the CAA. The Pride is making their seventh consecutive appearance in the CAA Championship.
Matthew Vowinkel leads the Pride in scoring with six goals and 12 points.
Luke Brown also has 12 points on five goals and two assists.
Alex Ashton, who has missed the last four games, has a 6-5-3 record and a 0.96 goals against average with eight shutouts.
Leo Arkhanhelskyi is 2-1-1 with a 1.18 goals against average and two shutouts.

Marcus Lindqvist, Jacob Goker and
George O'Malley anchor the Pride defense.
Northeastern earned the sixth seed on the last day of the regular season with a 1-0 win over 13
th-ranked UNCW. The win gave the Huskies their first CAA Championship berth since 2014. Northeastern enters Saturday's game with a record of 6-8-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the CAA. Ryan Massoud paces the Northeastern offense with five goals and one assist for 11 points while Moustapha Samb has three goals. Chandler Cree is 4-3-1 in goal for the Huskies with 0.75 goals against average and 32 saves.

Hofstra and Northeastern met earlier this season in Brookline, Massachusetts, with the Huskies coming away with a 3-0 victory. Samb opened the scoring for the Huskies with a first half penalty kick, and Martin Nygaard and Harry Swartz added second half goals.
Northeastern holds a 14-7-2 in the all-time series between the two schools.
