Hempstead, NY – Six spirited scrimmages and a solid fund-raising day for a great cause highlighted the 2018 HEADstrong Foundation Nicholas Colleuori Long Island Classic at Hofstra University's James M. Shuart Stadium this past Saturday.

The six-team field featured Hofstra, Air Force, Bucknell, Lehigh, Bryant and Siena.
 
Hofstra squared off against Air Force (7-5) and Bucknell (10-5) in two of the first three scrimmages of the day. At that point, the crowd in attendance heard an inspirational presentation from Michael Colleluori, Vice President of the HEADstrong Foundation and Nick's brother. Each team also its Nick Colleluori Tribute Award winner introduced and recognized. Each will wear number 27, Nick's number at Hofstra.

The Hofstra Lacrosse online fund-raising campaign for the HEADstrong Foundation raised $6,200 while all six teams in the Nick Colleluori Long Island Classic raised in excess of $44,000.
