Hempstead, NY – Three Hofstra University Lacrosse alums were inducted into the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Class of 2017, at a gala dinner at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale on Saturday night, January 27.
Tom Gill, '78, the longtime lacrosse coach at the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, Chris Unterstein, '06, who ranks among the top 10 in career assists and points as well as single season points in school history, and Hofstra Women's Lacrosse standout Kimberly Hillier, '07, who ranks among the top five in school history in career goals, assists and points, were all members of an amazing LIMLF Hall of Fame, Class of 2017.
In addition, several other inductees and honorees at the gala dinner have Hofstra connections, as well. Hall of Fame inductee Matt Danowski is the son or former Hofstra Men's Lacrosse Head Coach John Danowski. Inductee Brandon Testa is the brother of former Hofstra Men's Lacrosse standout, Jared Testa. Inductee Scott Hiller is the nephew of former Hofstra Lacrosse standout Bob Hiller. Finally, Rich Donovan, who received the LIMLF Whitey Henrickson Award for lifetime achievement, is a former Hofstra Men's Lacrosse Assistant Coach in the 1980s and early 1990s under John Danowski.
More than two dozen Hofstra alumni were among the 200 attendees at the LIMLF Hall of Fame Dinner.
