Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team will open Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend when it travels to longtime rivals Drexel and Delaware.
The weekend gets started on Friday when Hofstra faces Drexel at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the Pride will head to Newark to face the Blue Hens at 1 p.m.

Hofstra improved to 6-3 overall with its fourth straight win, a 10-8 victory over Columbia this past Saturday.
It was a career night for a pair of Pride players as sophomore
Maddie Fields posted a career-high 15 saves, while junior
Drew Shapiro notched a career-high four goals. For Shapiro it broke her previous high of three goals most recently tied against Central Connecticut State on March 25. Fields previous career-high of 11 saves occurred twice, most recently against #19 Johns Hopkins on March 11.
Freshman
Alyssa Parrella, who posted a trio of assists in the win over Columbia, leads Hofstra with 45 points on 27 goals and 18 assists. Junior
Shea McAvoy continues to be a huge part of the Pride's success this season as she has team-high totals of 26 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. Parrella is also tops on the team with 33 draw controls. Fields has played 516 minutes in net for Hofstra and has all six wins, to along with a .466 save percentage and a goals against average of 10.12.
Drexel enters the week with a 5-5 overall record after earning a 12-8 victory over UC Davis on April 2. Nadia Pelham-Lacey has 36 points on 21 goals and 15 assists to lead the team.
Delaware is also 5-5 this season and is coming off a 16-4 loss to Princeton on Sunday. Becky Gohsler has 21 goals and five assists to lead the Blue Hens in scoring this season.
Hofstra is 26-7 all-time against Drexel. The Dragons won last season's meeting, 8-5. Prior to last season, Hofstra had won 22 straight in the series dating back to a Dragon victory during the 1993 campaign.
Hofstra is 11-18 in the all-time series with Delaware. The Pride suffered a narrow 14-13 overtime loss last season.
