Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team will put its three-game win streak on the line on Saturday when it heads into New York City to take on Columbia.
Opening draw control from Robert K. Kraft Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Hofstra improved to 5-3 overall and extended its win streak to three games with a convincing 21-3 victory over Central Connecticut State on March 25.
The game had some historical significance for Hofstra. The 21 goals scored against Central Connecticut State were the most for the Pride since a 23-7 victory over George Mason on April 8, 2012. Hofstra allowed a season-low three goals to Central Connecticut State and it marked the fewest the Pride has allowed since defeating Marist, 9-3, on March 7, 2014. Finally, the Pride's 18-goal differential in the win was the largest since a 21-3 win over St. Mary's (CA) on February 20, 2010. It is the largest goal differential in program's Division I history – also tied with a 23-5 win over Davidson on March 15, 1996.
Freshman
Alyssa Parrella continues to lead Hofstra offensively in several categories as she has 42 points on 27 goals and 15 assists. She leads the Pride in all three and is also tops on the team with 29 draw controls, while ranking second in ground balls and caused turnovers with 17 and 10, respectively. Junior
Shea McAvoy has been strong all year for Hofstra as well as she is the team leader with 25 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers, while chipping in with six draw controls. Junior
Carlee Ancona has been one of the Pride's most consistent players in 2017 as her presence has been felt in all areas – with 15 points on seven goals and eight assists, along with 12 ground balls, 10 draw controls and six caused turnovers. Sophomore
Maddie Fields has all five wins in net for the Pride with a 10.39 GAA and a .440 save percentage.
Columbia is 5-4 this season and will face Wagner on Wednesday evening. They dropped a 10-8 decision to Harvard in their last contest on Saturday. Victoria Kalamaras leads Columbia with 40 points on 14 goals and 26 assists. Taylor Quinn is the goals leader with 27 goals, along with one assist. Quinn is also the team leader in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers with 32, 29 and 18, respectively.
Hofstra is 1-0 all-time against Columbia with the lone meeting occurring last season as the Pride picked up a narrow 11-9 victory in Hempstead.
Following this game Hofstra will get Colonial Athletic Association play underway with a road trip to two of the Pride's oldest rivals. The Pride will play at Drexel on April 7 before closing the opening weekend of conference play with a 1 p.m. game at Delaware on April 9.
