Hempstead, NY – The Colonial Athletic Association announced today its postseason awards for women's lacrosse and Hofstra had four players earn recognition.

Lindsay Scott was named to the All-CAA first team, senior defender
Lindsey Alfano was named to the All-CAA second team, freshman attacker
Lexi Lenaghan earned CAA All-Rookie honors and sophomore midfielder
Carolyn Carrera picked up CAA All-Academic accolades.
The awards were voted on by the league's head coaches.
Scott earns first team honors after a stellar season with the Pride. She led Hofstra in goals (52) and points (59), while also adding seven assists, seven draw controls and five ground balls. The CAA Player of the Week on April 4 and April 11, Scott's 52 goals ranks second in a single season in program history. Scott scored at least a goal in every game she played in this season and had 10 hat tricks in 2016. She was first in the CAA in both goals per game and points per game. Scott ranks seventh nationally in goals per game and 19th nationally in points per game.
Arguably the Pride's most versatile player, Alfano left her mark in a multitude of ways this season. She posted 36 draw controls, 23 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers, along with five points on four goals and one assist. She ranked second on the team in draw controls, ground balls and caused turnovers. She closed her career at Drexel on April 30 with one of the strongest games of our four-year career as she had three draw controls, two caused turnovers, two ground balls and a pair of goals.
The CAA Rookie of the Week on April 11, Lenaghan had a solid freshman campaign with 18 goals and eight assists for 26 points. She ranked second on the team in points and goals and third on the squad with eight assists. She also chipped in with three draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover. Lenaghan had multiple goals seven times in 2016.
Carrera, an engineering science major with a 3.84 grade point average, is the Pride's representative on the All-Academic squad. Carrera started all 16 games this season and posted 55 draw controls, 17 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. She led the CAA and ranks 38th nationally with 3.44 draw controls per game.
