WLAX: Hofstra Has A Pair Of Games On Docket This Week

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team will play its final non-conference game of the season on Friday at Stony Brook before hosting Elon in the squad's final home tilt of the 2016 campaign.

Friday's game against the Seawolves will start at 7 p.m., while Sunday's home finale will begin at 12 p.m.

There will be live video for both games, as well as live stats. Links for both can be found on this page and also on the women's lacrosse schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra will celebrate "Senior Day" on Sunday prior to the game against the Phoenix as they will honor the program's four "seniors" (Lindsey Alfano, Becky Conto, Shelby Milne and Lindsay Scott).

The Pride will take an overall record of 3-10 and a Colonial Athletic Association mark of 1-3 into this week's games.

Hofstra suffered a heartbreaking 14-13 overtime loss to Delaware in its last game on Sunday. Graduate attacker Lindsay Scott had a strong outing for the Pride with seven points on five points and two assists, while freshman attacker Lexi Lenaghan added four points on three goals and one assist. Junior attacker Morgan Knox also had four points, on one goal and three assists.

Scott now had team-bests of 47 goals and 53 points. Her 47 goals ranks eighth in a single season and is only three shy of second place. Kathleen Mikowski holds the single season record for goals with 57 during the 2003 season.

Stony Brook is 11-3 this season following a 10-7 win over Johns Hopkins on Sunday.

Elon enters this week with an 8-5 overall record and a 1-2 CAA mark. They dropped a 9-7 decision to James Madison on Sunday.

Friday's game against Stony Brook will pit two of the nation's top scorers against each other as Scott ranks second nationally in goals per game, while the Seawolves' Courtney Murphy is first in the nation.

Hofstra leads the all-time series with Stony Brook, 5-2. Last season was the first-ever meeting between Hofstra and Elon and the Pride captured a 10-9 win.

Following this week, Hofstra will close the regular season at Drexel on Saturday, April 30 at 4 p.m.
