Hempstead, N.Y. – Fresh off a comeback win against Massachusetts on Wednesday night, Hofstra Women's Basketball will stay at home to host American at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

The Pride (5-3) got back in the win column Wednesday, outscoring Massachusetts, 30-7, in the fourth quarter to rally for a 71-55 victory. The Minutewomen led by as much as 12 and took a seven-point advantage into the final stanza before Hofstra went on the decisive run, marked by six three-pointers and a 73.3 shooting percentage from the field.

Ana Hernandez Gil knocked down four of the Pride's fourth-quarter treys for a total of six on the night and a season-high 18 points. Junior forward
Ashunae Durant picked up her fifth double-double of the year with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while junior guard

Sandra Dongmo (10 points) also finished in double figures. Senior guard
Krystal Luciano chipped in 10 assists and became just the seventh player in program history to notch 400 career assists.
Durant leads the nation in offensive rebounds per game, averaging 6.3 per contest. She also tops the Colonial Athletic Association in offensive and total rebounds per game. Luciano's 6.6 assists per game lead the CAA as well and rank 15th nationally.
American (3-5) comes into Saturday's game looking to win two in a row after beating George Washington in overtime on Wednesday night. Three of the Eagles' contests have needed overtime, in fact, but Wednesday's win was the first that ended in American's favor with the Eagles dropping overtime decisions to CAA team Delaware and Georgia State. Led by junior Emily Kinneston's 11.5 points per game and senior Lauren Crisler's 6.3 rebounds per contest, American has picked up wins over Youngstown State and UMBC.
After hosting the Eagles, the Pride will break for final exams, returning to action on Dec. 22 at Saint Joseph's.
