Bronx, NY – Hofstra senior
Jack Finlayson led the Pride Men's Cross Country team at the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Northeast Regional Championship meet at Van Cortlandt Park Friday afternoon.
In the men's 10K race, Finlayson closed out his career with a 148th-place finish in 33:22. That time ranks 17th on the Hofstra all-time 10K performance charts. It was the third time that Finlayson led the team in a meet in 2016. Classmate
Riley Leder placed 195th in 34:12. Junior
Rodney Chirchir clocked a time of 34:29 to finish in 206th-place while classmate
Alan Hetherington was 216th in 35:15. Junior
Austin Jenkins posted a time of 35:33 to finish in 225th-place while senior
Michael Simon ended his career with a 233rd-place finish in 36:36.
Hofstra finished in 32nd-place with 944 points. Syracuse, the number one team in region, won the team title with 29 points and placed their five scoring runners in the top 10. Iona placed second with 65 points and Dartmouth was third with 108 points in the 35-team field. Syracuse junior Justyn Knight captured the individual title, completing the 10K course in 30:30.
