Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's Lacrosse team returns to the friendly but cold confines of James M. Shuart Stadium for their second home game of the season on Tuesday, February 24 when they face the Jaspers of Manhattan College. Game time is 4 p.m.

Hofstra (0-2) is coming off a 14-12 loss at snowy and frigid Princeton on Saturday. The Tigers posted a seven-goal third quarter and held off a late Hofstra charge to post their fifth win over the Pride in the last six meetings. Junior attackman
Sam Llinares recorded career-highs with five assists and seven points and added two goals to pace Hofstra. The five assists topped his previous best of four set against Marist and Penn State last year and the seven points topped the five points achieved several times.

Korey Hendrickson added two goals and one assist to help the Pride effort at Princeton. But while the Pride won the battle of the stat sheet, winning shots, ground balls and face-offs, Hofstra couldn't overcome a five-goal, four-assist game by Mike MacDonald, and three goals and two assists by Zach Currier for the Tigers. Senior goalie Eric Sanschagrin recorded a career-best 16 saves in the Princeton cage.
Hofstra has now received four goals and seven assists from
Sam Llinares in the first two games of the 2015 season. He tallied 21 goals and 32 assists last season and now is just four points away from 100 for his career. He has 44 goals and 52 assists in 31 games at Hofstra.

Despite not being able to convert on a key two-minute non-releasable man-up opportunity late in the game at Princeton on Saturday, the Pride is converting their man-up opportunities at a .462 clip (6-13), which ranks 25th in Division I.
The Jaspers of Manhattan are 0-3 on the young season with losses to Stony Brook (19-3), Princeton (14-4) and Fairfield (15-4) this year.
Manhattan is coming off a 15-4 loss at Fairfield on Saturday. Sophomore Nick Stutler tallied a goal and an assist for the Jaspers against the Stags of Fairfield, who are the newest member of the CAA. The Jaspers were outshot, 50-14 and won just six of 21 face-offs. Senior Michael Wiatrak made 15 saves while allowing 12 goals in 45 minutes of action while freshman Michael Zingaro made five saves and allowed three goals in 15 minutes of work in the Manhattan cage.
The Jaspers have scored just 11 goals in three games this season while allowing 48. Junior Jimmy Rogers leads Manhattan in scoring with three goals and one assist while sophomore Alex Ablog and freshman Andrew Gresham each have two goals. Senior Andrew Hurst has three assists. Wiatrak has a 15.11 goals against average and a .477 save percentage (31 saves) in 135 minutes of action.
Tuesday's game is the third meeting between Hofstra and Manhattan in a series that started in 2010. The Pride lead the series, 2-0. The two teams last met on April 5, 2011 with Hofstra winning, 13-8 at Shuart Stadium.
