Pride Rolls Past Pirates On Senior Day

Hempstead, NY - Jon Singer posted 14 saves in his first start in a Pride uniform and the Hofstra men's lacrosse team jumped out to a 9-0 start en route to a 20-5 victory over Hampton on Saturday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium.

Hofstra got a trio of hat tricks in the game with Gus Langtry, Trevor Natalie, and Anthony Rinaldi all scoring three goals for the Pride. Nick Dalton (2 G, 2 A), Langtry (3 G, 1 A), and Lorenzo Varona (2 G, 2 A) led the way with four points in the contest.

Singer, now in his second year at Hofstra, was making his first start in net since April 27, 2024 when playing for Ursinus. The 14 saves are the most for Singer since tallying 16 against Washington College on April 20, 2024.

Hofstra celebrated "Senior Day" prior to the match and honored Blake Cooling, Will Delaney, George Gilbert, Anthony Mollica, Trevor Natalie, Trey Parkes, Singer, and Matthew Vilas

Hofstra moved to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in CAA play with the win, while Hampton dropped to 0-12 and 0-5 in conference action.

Natalie and Langtry both tallied their hat tricks in the game-opening 9-0 run that all but decided the game. Langtry's last goal at the 3:34 mark of the first quarter made it 8-0 before Joey DeYoung finished the run two minutes into the second stanza.

Drew Bogardus had three points (1 G, 2 A) and a team-high-tying five ground balls for Hofstra, which also got five ground balls from Nico Ghicas. Owen Bosak (7-11), Ghicas (6-9), and Cole Myers (5-7) helped Hofstra win 18 of 27 face-offs in the contest.

Maliik Wood had two goals for Hampton, which got 19 saves from Miles Lancaster.

Hofstra will close the regular season next Saturday when it travels to Towson for a 12 p.m. contest. The game will air on FloCollege.

NOTES
- The hat trick was Langtry's third this season, Natalie fifth this season and 12th of his career, and the first of the career for Rinaldi.
- Nick Dalton and Jack Sakowski both tallied the first goals of their careers in the game.
- Today was the fourth all-time meeting between Hofstra and Hampton in men's lacrosse. The Pride now leads the series, 4-0, and all four meetings have taken place since the 2023 season.
