Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Field Hockey team will put their four-game winning streak on the line this weekend when they compete in the Catamount Classic in Burlington, VT. The Pride (4-1) will face the host Catamounts of Vermont on Saturday, September 13 at noon and the University of Maine Black Bears on Sunday, September 14 at noon.

Hofstra, which will be playing their fifth road game of the early season on Saturday, is coming off a 2-1 overtime victory over Fairfield in their home debut this past Wednesday. Junior midfielder Charlotte Loehr scored the first goal in the contest for the Pride and senior forward and captain Jonel Boileau scored the game-winner just 3:57 into the first overtime period. Freshman defender Simca Schoen assisted on both goals for the Pride. Hofstra freshman goalie Carys Swan made three saves to boost her season record to 4-0.

The Pride is led in scoring by a trio of players all with eight points. Junior forward Lauren del Valle leads the team with four goals. All four were scored in the 7-1 Colgate victory on August 31. Boileau and sophomore forward Claudia Marin Samper each have tallied three goals and two assists. Loehr and Schoen, two-thirds of the German Connection, each have six points with Loehr having three goals and Schoen leading the Pride with four assists to go with her one goal. Swan, who was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week earlier this week after two wins last weekend, now has a 1.51 goals against average and a .696 save percentage with 16 saves in five contests this season.

Saturday's game against the Catamounts of Vermont is the 12th meeting between the two programs and the first since a 2-1 loss to Vermont in Hamilton, NY in 2011. The Catamounts lead the series, 6-5. Vermont enters the weekend with an 0-4 record with losses to Providence (5-1), Lock Haven (3-0), Pacific (2-1) and Kent State (4-3) this season.
