Dedham, MA – The Hofstra field hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision on the road against Northeastern in Coastal Athletic Association action from Dedham Field.
Teresa Karoff finished off a penalty corner pass from
Caitlin Lozano with 3:08 left in the first quarter for her ninth tally of the season, giving Hofstra a 1-0 lead over the Huskies after one quarter of play. The Huskies evened the score at 1-1 five minutes into the second quarter on a penalty corner opportunity, and the hosts took the lead 43 seconds into the start of the third quarter. Hofstra had a player-advantage and the final shot of the game, but Karoff's effort was thwarted with a diving stop by Northeastern's goalkeeper.
Luci Hollister registered six saves in today's game. For Northeastern, Emilia Adragna and Jess Garden scored their goals, and Arabella Loveridge made three saves.
Hofstra returns to Cindy Lewis Stadium on Sunday, October 19, for a 12 p.m. contest versus New Haven.
NOTES:
-Northeaster took 15 shots to Hofstra's eight and earned six penalty corners to Hofstra's four.
