Williamsburg, VA - Mitchell Aker and Joseph Gaouette combined on a four-hit shutout and Derek Lowe had three RBIs as William & Mary picked up a 7-0 win over Hofstra and win the Colonial Athletic Association series.
Hofstra saw its record slip to 17-17 overall and 5-7 in the CAA with the loss. William & Mary improved to 27-15 overall and 11-3 in league play.
The Tribe picked up three runs in the first as Ryan Hissey had an RBI double, Charley Gould delivered a sacrifice fly and Kevin Casey had an RBI single. William & Mary added four runs, all unearned in the fourth inning with Lowe delivering a three-run double.
Aker (4-1) allowed four hits over seven innings with three strikeouts. Gaouette pitched two perfect innings to close out the game.
Matt Ford, Brad Witkowski, Kenny Jackson and Eric Ferguson each had hits for the Pride. Nick Kozlowski (6-3) took the loss, allowing seven runs (three earned) on six hits in five innings.
Hofstra returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Monmouth at 3:30 p.m.
