Hempstead, NY - Delaware freshman Kevin Milley, who was an emergency starter, allowed just three hits over six innings as Delaware evened up the Colonial Athletic Association series at one game apiece with a 6-0 win over Hofstra Saturday afternoon.

Milley improved to 2-1 on the season after finding out about the start shortly before game time when scheduled starter Brandon Hinkle was injured during warm-ups. Luke Alicknavitch pitched three hitless innings for his fifth save of the year.

Hofstra starter David D'Errico (1-2) matched Milley for the first five innings before yielding an unearned run in the sixth. EJ Stoltzfus reached on an error and went to second on a wild pitch before Zach Lopes delivered a two-out single to drive in the first run of the game. D'Errico allowed just four hits and the unearned run in his six innings of work.

Delaware would go on to score two more runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to account for the final score. Ty Warrington had a squeeze bunt in the seventh and Joe Giacchino followed with an RBI single. In the eighth the Blue Hens loaded the bases and scored on a single, a hit batsman and a walk.

Warrington finished with two RBIs on the day for Delaware while Stoltzfus had two of the Blue Hens 10 hits.

Kenny Jackson, Eric Ferguson and Eric Peterson had the Pride's three hits.

The teams conclude the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
