FH: Hofstra Hosts Two CAA Foes This Weekend With CAA Bids On The Line

Hempstead, NY - The final weekend of the Colonial Athletic Association Field Hockey regular season will decide what four teams will participate in the four-team 2014 CAA Championship that will be held on November 7-9 at a site to be determined by the final standings.

Hofstra (12-5, 3-1), currently in a three-way tie for second-place with Northeastern and William and Mary just one game behind defending champions Delaware (10-7, 4-1), can help their cause as they host the Tribe of William and Mary (6-10, 3-1) on Friday, October 31 at 3 p.m. and the Dukes of James Madison (10-6, 2-2) for Senior Day on Sunday, November 2 at noon at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium. One victory will guarantee Hofstra's passage into the CAA Championship while two will give the Pride the regular season title.

Hofstra enters the weekend riding a five-game winning streak and continues to get balanced scoring as the Pride try to reenter the CAA Championship after a one-year hiatus. Hofstra has qualified for the league tournament in eight of the last 10 seasons, missing out in only 2010 and 2013.

The Pride are coming off two big CAA road wins last week, winning at Towson, 4-2 on October 24 and knocking off Delaware, 5-2 last Sunday. Hofstra, which has five players in double-figure scoring, is led by senior captain and CAA Player of the Week Jonel Boileau with career-highs of 15 goals and 35 points along with five assists.
