BB: All-Time Great To Throw Out First Pitch Saturday

Hempstead, NY - One of Hofstra's all-time greats, Greg Polli, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Hofstra's baseball game Saturday afternoon. Polli will be inducted into Hofstra's Athletic Hall of Fame later that afternoon.

Polli will throw out the first pitch prior to the Pride's 12 p.m. Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contest against Old Dominion. A 1986 graduate of Hofstra, Polli was an All-American that season after batting .478 with 12 home runs and 57 RBIs. He ranked third in the nation in batting in 1985 with a .496 average and also led the nation in RBIs per game in both 1985 and 1986. He was a two-time All-East Coast Conference selection and his career average of .416 ranks seventh all-time in NCAA Division I.
