Denton, TX – Despite a match-high tying 11 kills from sophomore outside hitter Kelsie Wills and a match-high 12 digs from senior libero Kylee Maneja, the Hofstra Volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Eastern Michigan on Saturday morning at the Mean Green Invitational at North Texas.
The Eagles won by scores of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-23 to improve to 9-2 this season. Hofstra falls to 9-3 with the loss.
Rachel Iaquaniello tied Wills for match-high honors with 11 kills for Eastern Michigan.
Hofstra was held to a .039 attack percentage in the match, with a high of .081 in the third and final set. Eastern Michigan didn't allow the Pride to get on track early in the match as the Pride managed a .038 hitting percentage in the first set before hitting at a .000 clip in the second set.
Senior setter Catalina Charry added 23 assists, six digs and four kills for the Pride, while junior middle blocker Sara Campolina had a team-best five blocks.
Hofstra closes play at the Mean Green Invitational with a 3 p.m. (EST) match against the host North Texas.
