Pride Stays Perfect! Kayaalp's Career-High Leads Hofstra To Sweep

The Bronx, NY - Clara Bal had a match-high 13 kills and Nil Kayaalp picked up a career-high 24 digs to lead the Hofstra volleyball team to a three-set sweep of FDU on Saturday afternoon at the Rose Hill Classic on the campus of Fordham University. The win was Hofstra's six consecutive victory to open the 2025 campaign. This year's team is only the sixth in program history to begin a season with at least six straight wins.

Hofstra moved to 6-0 heading into its home opener on Sunday, while FDU dropped to 2-7. Set scores were 25-16, 25-19, and 25-13.

The Pride was never seriously challenged in the contest with the offense finishing the match with a .302 attack percentage. Hofstra was spectacular in the third and final set, hitting at a .522 clip, to finish off FDU with its most dominating set of the match.

Georgia Ahlert had a strong match for the Pride with eight kills and a match-high six blocks. Bal tied Ahlert with six blocks, while Lilia Duczek chipped in with four kills and five blocks. Nina Jioshvili-Ravva posted 28 assists, four service aces, four digs, four blocks, and two kills in the match.
