Newark, DE - Pride sophomore Jonel Boileau scored her ninth goal of the year but Delaware's Kelsey McKee scored twice to lead the Blue Hens of Delaware to a 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Hofstra at Rullo Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The Pride, who dropped their fifth consecutive match, fall to 5-8 on the season and 0-4 in the CAA. Delaware, which snapped a four-game losing skid, improves to 5-10 and 1-3 in conference play.

Hofstra got on the scoreboard first just 14:51 into the contest as Boileau (Kelowna, BC, Canada) scored on a shot from 10 yards out for her ninth goal of the season. The tally equaled her freshman season goal output while the two points gives her 20 points on the year topping her 2011 total of 19.

The Pride lead was short lived as Blue Hen sophomore Kelsey McKee scored her sixth goal of the season, on a backhanded shot from 10 yards, just 1:43 later to tie the contest at 1-1.

McKee gave the Blue Hens a 2-1 advantage with 10:12 to play in the first half on a penalty stroke which she converted for her seventh goal of the year. Delaware outshot Hofstra, 7-5 in the first half.

The Blue Hens had a chance to extend their lead 5:24 into the second half when the Pride were whistled for their second penalty stroke of the contest. But Hofstra goalie Kaitlyn De Turo (South Setauket, NY) stopped McKee's stroke attempt to keep the score at 2-1. It was the first of four saves in the contest for DeTuro.

Hofstra may have had its best chance to tie the game just three minutes after the second penalty stroke in a two-shot flurry by Boileau. Her first shot was stopped by Delaware freshman goalie Megane Simons and her rebound shot went wide of the goal. Simons finished the game with three saves including two in the first half. Delaware outshot the Pride, 11-9 and had five penalty corners to Hofstra's three in the contest.

The Pride return to action next Sunday, October 14 when they host the Terriers of Boston University in a non-conference contest at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium. Game time is 1 p.m.
