Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University head Field Hockey Coach Kathy De Angelis announced today the 2011 spring schedule, highlighted by the Asics-Hofstra Invitational on April 9, that her 2011 Pride team will play in the coming weeks.

The Pride will kick off their Spring season on Saturday, March 26 when they host the Raiders of Colgate at 11 a.m. and the Big Apple Slickers, a metropolitan club team at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium.  On Saturday, April 2, Hofstra travels to Connecticut to face the Stags of Fairfield at 11 a.m.

The five team, inaugural Hofstra-Asics Invitational will be played on Saturday, April 9 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium. The tournament will feature the Pride, Delaware, Northeastern, Rider and St. Joseph's. Each team will play four, 25-minute minute games.

The Pride wrap up their out-of-season contests with a game against the Hofstra field hockey alumni on Sunday, April 10 at 11 a.m.

2:00-  2:25pm-Rider vs. St. Joseph's

Tournament winner will be determined by tournament record. Tie-breaker will be determined by goals scored by each team, then goals against.
