Newark, DE - Kyle Ellis scored 59 seconds into the second overtime period to give the Fightin' Blue Hens a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Hofstra in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Delaware Mini Stadium Sunday evening. Delaware erased a 2-0 deficit in the final 15:04, including the tying goal with 38 seconds left.

Hofstra falls to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the CAA, while Delaware improves to 8-3-1, 3-3 in the CAA.

The Pride opened the scoring just 1:46 into the game as they put pressure on the Blue Hens from the opening whistle and drew a corner kick. Heidar Emilsson received the initial pass and took a shot twoards goal that Shaun Foster redirected past Delaware keeper Kris Devaux. The goal was Foster's third of the season.

The Pride went up 2-0 as Emilsson took a pass from Shady Saleh and drilled a 30-yard shot into the top left corner for a 2-0 advantage.

The Blue Hens got on the board at 74:56 as Roberto Gimenez headed in a re bound off a Mark Garrity shot to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Gimenez struck again at 89:22 when he took a feed from Darren O'Connor after a scramble and beat Roberto Pellegrini for the equalizer and force overtime.

After a scoreless first overtime session, Ellis made quick work at the start of the second. He dribbled around several Hofstra defenders and sailed in the game-winner for his fifth goal of the season.

Pellegrini made six saves in the loss, while Devaux had four saves in the win.

Hofstra is back in action Wednesday at Drexel.
