Hempstead, NY - Hofstra junior attackman Stephen Bentz has been named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, May 2.

Bentz, a native of Massapequa, New York, equaled his career-highs with five goals and five points in the Pride's 12-10 CAA victory over Towson at Shuart Stadium last Saturday night. He tallied two goals in the first half and three in the second half as Hofstra posted its ninth win of the year against just four losses.

Bentz tallied five goals on March 20 against Sacred Heart in a 14-6 victory. He also recorded five points (3 goals, 2 assists) on March 6 against Brown in a 15-12 win.

He is having the best season of his career in 2010. Bentz is second on the team with 28 goals and third in assists (12) and points (40).

Bentz, who was named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, was also named the CAA Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week as well. It is also the fourth time this season that a member of the men's lacrosse team has won the GoHofstra.com Player of the Week award.
