Joey DeYoung led the Pride with a hat trick, but it wasn't enough as the Hofstra men's lacrosse team dropped a 17-8 decision to Drexel on Saturday afternoon at Vidas Field.
The hat trick was DeYoung's second this season and third of his career.
Hofstra dropped to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in CAA play with the loss. Drexel moved to 8-4 and 4-1 in conference action.
Anthony Mollica tallied a goal and an assist for the Pride, which also got two assists from
Gus Langtry.
Jon Singer saw his first action in a Hofstra uniform and made three saves in the fourth quarter for the Pride.
Austin Clarke and
Cole Myers led the team with four ground balls.
Witt Crawford had six points on four goals and two assists for Drexel, which got 19 saves from Brendan Donnelly.
