Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University senior outfielder John Kenny was named the GoHofstra.com Player of the Week for his strong in Hofstra's five games last week. Kenny was selected in fan vote on GoHofstra.com.

Kenny racked up seven RBIs in going 6-for-18 (.333) during a five-game stretch against Penn State and Manhattan. Batting in the lower part of the order, Kenny scored three runs and logged 18 putouts playing every inning in centerfield.

Kenny had a home run, an RBI and two runs scored in an 11-7 win over Manhattan. He was 2-for-5 in the Pride's win over Penn State with a run and two RBIs. Kenny then drove in three runs in the second game of a doubleheader against the Nittany Lions. He closed out the week with a 2-for-5, one RBI-day on Sunday at Penn State. Kenny, one of just three Hofstra players to start in all of the team's 19 games, added stolen bases in the final two games against the Nittany Lions.

The Franklin Square, NY, native helped Hofstra engineer a six-game winning streak, marking the longest since 1995.
On the season, Kenny is batting .338 with two home runs, 13 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.
