Omaha, NE - The 2009-10 Hofstra Wrestling season came to a close Friday afternoon when sophomore P.J. Gillespie was knocked out of the NCAA Championships with a loss in the third round of the consolations at the Qwest Center.

Gillespie (Long Beach, NY) dropped a 4-0 decision to Cornell's Justin Kerber at 165 pounds to end his season with a 31-14 record. In Friday's match, the contest remained scoreless through two periods before Kerber escaped to start the third. Later in the period, Kerber took Gillespie down for a 3-0 advantage and then copped the bonus point with 1:57 of riding time. Kerber's victory, his third of the season over Gillespie, improved his record to 20-10 on the season.
