Hempstead, NY - Sophomore midfielder Genna Kovar has been named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 1.
Kovar
scored a goal and added an assist in helping the Pride clinch a spot in
the CAA Field Hockey Championship with a 3-2 win over Towson on October
31. Kovar's goal 10:15 into the second half tied the score at 2-2,
while she assisted on Darrah Rachman's game-winning goal nearly three minutes later.
On the season, Kovar has tallied a team best 15 goals and five assists for 35 points.
The Pride
will be the fourth seed in the CAA Championship this weekend and will
face top-seeded Drexel in the first semifinal on Saturday at Noon.
