PRIDE EARN CAA CHAMPIONSHIP BERTH; PAIRINGS ANNOUNCED

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Field Hockey team earned the fourth seed in next weekend's CAA Championship by virtue of James Madison's 3-2 double-overtime win over Northeastern Sunday. Hofstra, which is making its sixth consecutive appearance in the CAA Championship, will take on the top seeded Drexel Dragons at Buckley Field in Philadelphia on Saturday, November 7 at Noon in the first semifinal. #2 Delaware will meet #3 James Madison at 2:30 p.m. in the second semifinal. The winners will meet Sunday at 1 p.m. in the title game.

The Pride met Drexel during the regular season and suffered a 7-3 loss at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium on September 26. The Dragons, ranked 10th in the nation, have won eight straight contests and clinched the top seed with a 4-2 win over #17 Delaware in the regular season finale Sunday afternoon to improve to 17-2 on the season.

Hofstra has won seven of its last eight games and enters the CAA Championship with a 12-7 record.

Admission to the CAA Field Hockey Championship is $5 for adults and $3 for youths 12 and under.
