Hempstead, NY - Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Heyde has been named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 25.

Heyde shined in goal for the Pride in an October 23 win over Northeastern. The Somers, NY, native tied a career best with 11 saves in the Pride's 4-2 win. Heyde turned away seven shots in the second half of the contest to thwart a comeback attempt by the Huskies and help the Pride inch closer to a CAA Championship berth.

The 11 saves marked the second time this season that Heyde reached that mark, matching her total from the season opener against Maine. She also had 11 saves in a game at James Madison during her freshman campaign.

The field hockey team (11-6, 4-2 CAA) is back in action this weekend when it closes out the regular season and attempts to lock up a spot in the CAA Championship at Delaware Friday night (10/30) and Towson Saturday night (10/31).
