After William & Mary grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a Sheridan sacrifice fly, Hofstra responded with five runs in the second and one in the third to take a 6-1 advantage. In the second Elliot Hagburg led off with a home run to tie the score at one. Anthony Sarno singled, moved to second on an error and came home on Panzarella's single up the middle. Two batters later, with the bases loaded, Chris Mentrasti drove home Panzarella with an RBI infield single for a 3-1 lead. Tom Legregni then reached on an error to drive home the fourth Pride run before Matt Prokopowicz's bases-loaded walk drove home the fifth and final run of the inning. The Pride tacked on a sixth run in the third inning as Cole homered to right field.
The score stayed the same until the home half of the fifth when the Tribe posted four runs. The big blow was Park's three-run home run. William & Mary went ahead for good in the sixth as the Tribe tacked on six runs for an 11-6 lead. Sheridan had a two-run single, while Park had a run-scoring single of his own.
William & Mary added three runs in the seventh and seven runs in the eighth to close out the scoring.
