Hofstra University junior midfielder Michael Unterstein, who helped lead the Pride to two conference victories last week, has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week, the CAA announced today.
Unterstein, a native of Shoreham, New York and a graduate of Shoreham-Wading River High School, recorded two goals and seven assists to lead the Pride to conference wins over Sacred Heart and Towson last week. The junior middie assisted on four goals in the come-from-behind victory at Towson, including two in the final minute of regulation, and the game-winner in overtime. Unterstein had a team-best and career-best five points at Sacred Heart last Wednesday with two goals and three assists.
Unterstein, who posted 13 goals and 11 assists last season, leads the Pride in scoring this year with 21 points on seven goals and 14 assists.
