PRIDE RECEIVING VOTES IN USILA COACHES POLL

3/7/2007 9:00:00 AM

The Hofstra Pride, who will face fifth-ranked Johns Hopkins this Saturday at Homewood Field in Baltimore, received votes this week in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll. The Pride (1-1) will face the Blue Jays (1-1) in an ESPNU-televised contest beginning at noon.

Six Hofstra opponents are ranked in this week's USILA Top 20. Hopkins comes in at five, Princeton, who the Pride will face on March 17 at Hofstra, is seventh, Army is ninth, Delaware is tenth, Towson is 11th, and Drexel is 20th

Duke takes over the top spot in this week's poll, edging out last week's number one Georgetown, after the Blue Devils' victory over Maryland. The Hoyas slip to number two followed by Cornell, Albany and Johns Hopkins. Navy, Princeton, Virginia, and two upcoming opponents, Army and Delaware, round out the top 10.
